  • Lt Col Taylor in the chair with Major Flavelle vice-chair. The chairman suggested the committee be reduced to seven by not replacing any retiring members.
  • Austin's proposals for flats fronting onto the Mill arm of the Park roadway was generally approved by the committee.
At the beginning of the 1960, Mr Austin was asked to pay UPPA £400 with a further deposit of £250 returnable with interest on satisfactory re-instatement of the roadway and utility services. The flats would then be subject to the same Park rate as the rest of the Park - currently 1/6p in the £.
By the October AGM it was apparent that the issue had to be dropped since it could not be enforced with Austin's solicitor requiring proof of ownership of the road.

  • The Rural District Council still be chased regarding the hedge planting along the Avenue entrance.
  • Dr. Doran to be politely reminded that proprietors were responsible for their own drains - problems with his were causing road subsidence. The dangerous gully outside Doran's house (no:72) was however UPPA's responsibilty and should be repaired.
  • Committee finally acquired materials for the Avenue boundary fence so commence work 'as soon as possible'.
