Andy Lees of The GarthAndy Lees has lived in the Park since 1950 after marrying Mrs. Loadman's daughter Mary from no:6. so his firsthand knowledge of the Park goes back well over 50 years. He has audited the Park accounts since 1959.
Andy was born in Aberdeen Scotland and began an electrical apprenticeship there. He then joined the RAF for 6 years, during which time he was stationed at Hawarden near Chester and met his wife. Demob saw him getting into the teaching profession; via the post-war emergency teaching scheme. He progressed through Primary; Secondary and then into College lecturing. For 32 years he commuted by rail to Crewe where he was Senior Lecturer in Electrical & Electronic Engineering at Crewe Technical College. He retired in 1981 and is now regularly seen cycling through the Park. He has audited the UPPA accounts since 1959; having worked with, at least, eight treasurers (incl:- Gilmore;Starkie;Morris;Fieldhouse;Mounsey; James & Headley) |
