Reminiscences of Joan Robinson (nee Compston)Joan's parents had Rhossili (no:4) built in 1923 and lived there until she left for University and then teaching in Birmingham with frequent visits home until her parents moved in 1934. She has remained a close friend of Margaret Millett and recalls her adolescent days in Chester during the 1920s- We spent our free time as rather frivolous young people on the river. Many of our friends had their own boats - the young ones canoes - and the weather was going through a warm sunny period about then. There was a dance arranged by the Council in the Town Hall on Saturday nights in the winter where we met up. Most respectable.
