Millview school

Founded in 1967; this primary school (ages 4 - 11); has an excellent reputation and 80% of pupils are out of catchment area.

The school has an excellent website www.millviewschool.org

Upton Park in fact is not within its catchment area although sharing a fair length of boundary with the school. The Park often hears the school bell - a traditional school handbell. The school has 3 of these each presented by an end-of-year graduating top class - a tradition going back many years such that the school has a good selection of other gifts - paintings etc.

The following two photographs show the schoolchildren enjoying a special event in their playing field with the tree-lined Avenue and some Park boundary in the background.

footnote
The uppa website editor spent a useful and enjoyable morning at the school during their Open Day 8 Feb 2001 - guided and hosted by Gill Andrews Vice Chairman of the governors. Also met another governor Hamish Smith; secretary Chris Hamilton; caretaker Mr Biggins and the sponsor of their science trail laboratory and their website - Dr Graham Rideal of Whitehouse Scientific.
